Dhol Tasha

Preserving the Maharashtrian Dhol-Tasha art form while inspiring and developing the next generation of performers!!

Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak’s impact goes beyond the stage. At the heart of our journey is a commitment to preserving the traditional dhol‑tasha art form through regular practice, hands-on training, and active community participation.

Over the years, Shivam has introduced many first-time learners to the discipline, energy, and heritage of Maharashtrian dhol‑tasha. Many continue to grow within the pathak today, carrying the tradition forward with pride and dedication as confident, committed vadaks.

Shivam has also contributed hundreds of volunteer performance hours to community and cultural events including Ganeshotsav, Shiv Jayanti, Diwali, Holi, Bathukamma, India Independence Day, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, and global art festivals. Through these performances, we bring traditional percussion to diverse audiences while strengthening cultural connection, celebration, and visibility for the art form.

Nationwide Dhol-Tasha Collaboration | June 2025

In June 2025, Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak became the first to initiate a nationwide Dhol-Tasha collaboration in the United States — bringing fellow pathaks from across the country together to perform, connect, and celebrate the shared heritage of Maharashtra.

Held in Dallas, Texas, this collaboration welcomed Spartan Pathak from California and Shiva Rhythm from Seattle, who joined Shivam in a historic collective performance. Shivshardul from Detroit had also confirmed participation but was unable to attend due to logistical challenges.

More than a performance, this initiative represented unity, cultural exchange, and a shared commitment to preserving and growing the Dhol-Tasha tradition across America.

Our journey has been strengthened by community organizations, city and civic partners, and public safety partners whose support has helped us bring Dhol-Tasha to audiences across North America.
